File and Directory Management with FTP

The FTP service allows you to upload and download files

You can connect to your hosting account using the FTP service in order to manage the files of your site. This service is handy when you need to upload or download multiple files. In most cases it also allows managing the permissions of the files and folders.

Prerequisites

Completion of the task: 10 minutes

Expertise: beginner

How to do?

Open the FTP client, and fill in the required information:

FTP server (Host) : Your server name
Logon: Required explicit FTP over TLS, or FTPS (not SFTP)
Username : Your cPanel/FTP username
Password : Your cPanel/FTP password
Port : 21

Click OK/Connect to finish the configuration.

Once the connection is established, you can simply click and drag files and folders around. In the right column is your server and in the left column is your local environment.

Important

For security reasons, plain text authentication (Clear Text Session) is not supported. It is required to enable FTP over SSL/TLS instead.

Using the cPanel File Manager

You can also use cPanel's file manager for file management.

1. Connect to your cPanel control panel from your Funio Hub.

2. In the Files section, click File Manager.

You will be able to upload and download files to the directory of your choice on your server from this interface, as well as edit the files on your server.
